Below is information about parenting and relationship classes being offered at the Danville Center:

WEDNESDAY  NIGHT
CO-PARENTING   CLASSES 

WHAT:
  Six classes designed to help divorced parents.
 
Note: Divorced/separated parents need NOT attend this class together 
to benefit from the information offered.
 
A "Certificate of Completion" is given to all participants. 
 
      Workshop #1:  Introduction and co-parenting
     
      Workshop #2:  How divorce & separation impact children
     
      Workshop #3:  The divorce recovery process
 
      Workshop #4:  Effective parenting as a co-parent
 
     Workshop #5:  Dealing with anger and communication
 
     Workshop #6:  Forgiveness, dating, and step-family issues

 #1 Effective Parenting for Pre-School Children
 
WHAT:    This is a series of classes designed to help parents of pre-schoolers. Each class stands-alone (you do not need to take the series).
It includes the following:
   Class 4 - "Social Skills: Siblings, Friends and more..."
    Class 5 - "How to Talk So Kids Will Listen"   
    Class 6 - "Tantrums & Meltdowns"

 #2    1-2-3 MAGIC : EFFECTIVE DISCIPLINE 
 
WHAT:    This is a "must take" class for parents of young ( 3- 10 years of age) children. This powerful technique, developed by Dr. Thomas Phelen, helps parents teach appropriate responsibility to their children while reducing tension in the home.  

WHEN:   Two Tuesdays  ( 2-16  &  2-23 )   6:30 - 8:30 PM

WHERE:  Village High School, Room 102, in Pleasanton

#3     Improving Couples Communication 

WHAT:      This workshop is designed to help couples communicate more effectively, and enjoy their relationship more. A powerful and effective communication tool developed by the Couples Institute will be explored and practiced. Participating couples will not be asked to share their personal issues with the group. Call for more information about this class.

WHEN:   March 24 & March 31  Two Saturdays
                     Both 9:00 - noon

#4 Effective Parenting Saturday Series
                   (six stand-alone workshops)
 WHAT:         This is intended to be a fun and lively series of six Saturday morning classes each designed to help parents become more effective and successful. Workshops include: effective discipline, alternatives to punishment, Love & Logic parenting techniques, building the parent-child relationship, family rules, and teaching children life-skills (including academic success) 
 
WHEN:     This class is offered on six Saturdays.
              2/4, 2/11, 2/18, 3/3, 3/10, and 3/17.  
             All classes are from 9:30 - 11:30 AM
   
     EACH CLASS STANDS ALONE.
YOU NEED NOT ATTEND ALL  SESSIONS.
